The world is divided by boundaries. This is of course done to protect the inhabitants of a particular country but it is nevertheless a boundary that separates humans from humans. To enter a foreign land you need to prove your intentions and have legal entry passes more popularly known as passport and visa. Without these you would be considered a criminal in that foreign country even if your intentions are good, that of sight seeing. Every country has their own set of rules and regulations guiding the entry of foreigners in their land and to enter a country you need to follow their laws accordingly.

The very first thing you need to go outside of your country to any foreign land is a passport. And to get a passport the rules and regulations you need to follow are almost same for most countries. The more difficult problem is getting a visa to a particular country. You first need to clarify the reason for your visit and apply for a visa accordingly. For example, there is business visa, tourist visa, student visa and so on depending on the purpose of your visit. It goes without saying that the most popular and most sought visa is the tourist visa also called the travel visa sometimes. A travel visa is given by the country where you wish to visit and the time limit for your stay in that country is set in the tourist visa. This time limit does not depend on your wish rather it depends on the laws of that particular country. Guidelines to what you are free to do and what you are not allowed as a tourist are also given along with a travel visa and you are bounded by the law of the country to follow them strictly.

Not all countries require a visa to enter their boundaries but the countries which do are strict with their laws. To get a tourist visa to a particular country of your choice, what you need to do is, visit the consulate office of that country and apply for the visa. Some countries are more lenient than others in giving a travel visa. But anyhow you should strictly follow the guidelines of visa application to get it. You might have to appear for an interview too and it is advised that you be honest in your intentions to get the tourist visa.
