The Fair Debt Collection Act or the FDCPA is a law and it is designed to give protection to the ordinary consumers from the mistreatment of the debt collectors. If this law is not in place, then they will be harassed to the maximum. This law provides protection to the ordinary consumers. It is a general trend that most debt collectors assume that most of the ordinary folks hardly know anything about the protection from possible harassments. The Fair debt collection Act will give protection from any type of illegal tactics, which could be used by the collection agencies.
There should be a general trend that debt collect must always be taken in a fair manner. The terms and the conditions should be accepted by both the parties. The main aim of the Fair Debt Collection Act is to see that the ethical practices of the debt collectors are maintained and also to ensure that the debt is also being collected in an orderly manner. There should also be no invasion of privacy on the part of the client and harassment should also be avoided at all costs. This also includes possible offensive remarks and mistreatments or rude behavior.

The Fair Debt Collection Act is to protect the genuine creditors and those who repay debt in a regular fashion. There are specific guidelines to be followed, such as the fees taken on late payment. The law is universal and it is applicable in a fair manner to poor and rich alike. The debt collectors will call you after 8 in the morning and after 9 in the evening. They can also not force you to meet at your place of employment.
